Maxillofacial trauma due to traffic accidents and falls: an exploratory study of associated factors

Background This study aimed to determine the pattern of Maxillofacial trauma (MFT) due traffic accidents and falls in a reference hospital rural region northeastern Brazil between December 2011 2018 identify associated factors. Material methods was cross-sectional using 585 medical records patients with MFT. The data were subjected Poisson-Tweedie multiple regression analysis estimate Prevalence ratio (PR), 95% confidence interval (95% CI) significance level p Results MFT more prevalent among 21 40 years old (PR=2.30; CI=1.20-4.41; Conclusions Strategies confront this problem, such as road highway improvements, effective enforcement laws intersectoral coordination involving entire community implement policies prevention programs targeted at these populations, can be implemented.
